About Haley Lynch

Haley Lynch is an assistant editor at Beacon Press, where she acquires and edits a range of books. She has been working as a freelance developmental editor since 2015. With experience inside literary agencies and publishing houses, she is well-equipped to advise new writers and experienced authors who are looking to land an agent, write a proposal, or polish their work for submission to a publishing house. Though she mainly accepts work from agented clients, she is also happy to receive queries from authors without representation.

How does it work?

I accept submissions from agents whose clients need an extra boost and authors who want help diagnosing trouble spots in their books. I have experience in genres ranging from adult literary fiction and narrative nonfiction, to memoir,  academic, popular fiction, and young adult fiction. I’ll provide in-depth analysis and consultation on all elements of your book, including basic grammar and word choice, voice, style, pacing, themes, dialogue, and even overall plot structure and character development. I’m eager to offer publishing advice and work with you to create the best possible version of your project. My goal as an editor is to help writers at all levels identify weaknesses in their prose while capitalizing on strengths to create the ideal version of every book.
